View Connections remaining "connected" after pull of Smart Card

Folks, been trying to find a root cause for this random issue:   Users are getting the following error after pulling their smart cards on Tera 2 clients with SSO enabled:  "The View Agent reports that this desktop is currently logging off a previous session. Please try again later".

What we noticed is that error occurs when View console shows the users prior session in a "connected" status even though the smart card has been pulled from the Tera 2 system (we normally see the session in a "disconnected" state from CS when card gets pulled which then allows the defined pool/global timers to go into effect to log users off their VDI desktops).

At present,  to correct the error requires manual intervention from the View console to force the logoff of the user session which then kills the prior session and releases the IC back to the pool for reuse at a future time.

Our environment is using H7 version 7.8 for both CS and agent.

Timers which are set in CS for pool and global settings  (Pool ->  Auto Logoff after disconnect 120 minutes ;  Global setting --> Forcibly disconnect users at 600 minutes).

Desktop Pools are all Instant clone Win 10.

Tera 2 firmware 6.3.1

Have applied registry items from VMware KB 2151503 thinking desktops were stuck during logoff but that does not seem to have helped with resolving the error being seen.

Any thoughts as to what may be causing the CS to still see the prior "session" in a connected state despite the smart card being pulled from the Tera 2 client (thus in effect disabling the pool/global timers)?
